"Say it with pride: We are Hindus!"

This iconic slogan was given by the Shiv Sena supremo, Shri Balasaheb Thackeray, during an era when even identifying as a Hindu in India was a challenge.

The Shiv Sena Philosophy of Hindutva

Shiv Sena’s brand of Hindutva is inclusive and unifying. It embraces all castes, religions, sects, and languages that regard India as their motherland.

Shiv Sena: A “Temple of Justice” & Micro-Governance

More than just a political party, Shiv Sena is a progressive movement and a dynamic platform. It serves as a modern social guardian with deep-rooted connections at the grassroots level.

Foundation: Established on June 19, 1966, by Shri Balasaheb Thackeray to fight injustice and protect the rights of the Marathi people in Mumbai.

Ideology: The party considers itself the true successor to Balasaheb Thackeray’s legacy, focusing on Hindutva and Marathi Pride.

Leadership: Led by Eknath Shinde, who served as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra from June 2022 to the 2024 elections.

Current Governance: Following the 2024 Maharashtra Assembly elections, the party is a vital part of the ‘Mahayuti’ alliance, alongside the BJP and the Ajit Pawar-led NCP.

Present Role: Eknath Shinde continues to lead the party’s vision, currently serving as the Deputy Chief Minister.

Shiv Sena remains a staunch Hindutva-vadi party—one that carries forward the belief that anyone who honors India as their motherland is an integral part of its fabric.
