Dr. Shrikant Eknath Shinde

'Bharat Gaurav' – 'Sansad Ratna' – MP

 

Dr. Shrikant Eknath Shinde is an Indian politician and, by profession, an Orthopaedic Surgeon. He is the son of the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Eknath Shinde.

**Political Career:**

Currently, he serves as a Member of Parliament (MP) in the Lok Sabha, representing the Kalyan constituency in Maharashtra.

He won his first election in 2014, becoming the youngest Maratha MP at the time.

Subsequently, he secured victories in the 2019 and 2024 Lok Sabha elections as well.

**Education and Medical Background:**

Before entering politics, he completed his medical studies at D.Y. Patil Medical College, Navi Mumbai. He also served as an Orthopaedic Surgeon for two years at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Hospital in Thane.

**Key Works and Contributions:**

**Healthcare:** He played a pivotal role in launching the “One Rupee Clinic” initiative in the Kalyan-Dombivli region.

**Infrastructure:**

He is known for placing special emphasis on improving railway facilities, as well as on the construction of metro projects and flyovers within his constituency.

He runs the Dr. Shrikant Shinde Foundation, which works to organize free medical camps and provide health-related assistance.
